The Museum of Anatolian Civilizations is housed within a building that possesses a strong historical character. Within the museum, the experience of exhibition objects from different periods unfolds along routes guided by lighting and architectural form. In this framework, lighting arrangements are designed in harmony with variations in ceiling forms and the diversity of materials and textures in the exhibition spaces. These elements define the museum environment and offer visitors a distinctive spatial experience.

The variations in ceiling form can be read in three parts: the central domed bedesten structure, the linear surrounding spaces (corridors) encircling this domed volume, and the square-shaped rooms. In all three spatial configurations, lighting plays a significant role in defining the space. Through different lighting techniques, artworks are emphasized and brought to the foreground, enabling visitors to focus more easily on selected exhibits and enhancing the overall exhibition experience.
