ROUTE FROM LIGHT
ANATOLIAN CIVILIZATIONS MUSEUM
At the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, we experienced the different forms, materials, and textures of the ceiling as elements defining the diversity of the exhibition spaces and determining the exhibition viewing route. We observed that the lighting arrangement accompanying the ceiling defined the continuity of the exhibition viewing experience. Based on this, we named the route we took to experience the exhibition the "illuminated route."
We observed that the ceiling, created by the spaced wooden arrangement covering the corridors in the exhibition area, defined the linear exhibition route; while the square-shaped ceilings indicated stopping points, describing a different presentation or a different direction in the route. We experienced the domed exhibition space as a high-volume space encompassing various activities and large exhibition objects.
Our photographic series aim to convey the impact of ceiling and lighting elements on the experience of different exhibition spaces and objects by following a "light route." The variation in ceiling and lighting arrangements along the exhibition route makes the experience of the exhibition volumes unique.
